The Start of Hatred
Upon passing through the harsh and unforgiving landscape, Mulgarath was struck by the contrast between the viciousness of the world and the kindness he had experienced from Luciyal, the horned man. Little did he know that the dwarves would not be welcoming. As he arrived at the western end of Mt. Hercules, two dwarves, Malnus and Therrigg Longstone, confronted him, suspicious of his presence and intent.
“Hello, traveler,” Malnus said. “Are you lost? This is a place for dwarves, not someone like you, with your blackened stare and tall stature. I don’t think you belong here.”
Therrigg added, “Your dark gaze tells us that you have a menacing purpose for being here and have been lurking in these mountains for several days. Yes, we’ve been watching you. What are you up to?”
Mulgarath replied, “I’ve just left my home to see what the world offers. The first dwarves I met were small and aggressive. So why do you stand in my way? I demand you move out of my way and let me pass.” Angered by the confrontation, Mulgarath was determined to continue his journey, thus beginning his path of hatred.
