The continued efforts of our Arin researchers have culminated in the successful translation of the fifth tablet of the origins, offering a significant discovery that highlights the deep-rooted complexity of the pantheon of gods and the genesis of the Great Serpents.
“First, the Great Serpents were created to spread the influence of Niefel across the land. Niefel made these Serpents to reign dominion over land, sea, and air. They were awe-inspiring in power and terrifying. They would swim in the waters, lurking just under ships. Fly through the sky as if Horis was passing, only to lay waste to the ground in the attempt to bring more Lootians under Niefel’s control. They would walk the land, slithering and skulking in the shadows, scheming and beguiling any Lootian that would happen upon them. The first of these creatures is Serta, The Ravager, described as the greatest of the dragons, whose wingspan was twice as long as it was wide. It was said that each beat of its wings caused storms to appear, and its voice emitted lightning that struck those within its presence. It was known to make its home in the northern mountains and demanded a sacrifice from any within its domain every third day of the third month of the third year. Failure to do so would cause the skies to cry out in sorrow. The second creature is Selkum, The Depraved. It was said to be the smartest of all the Serpents, knowing all the languages of the ancient Lootians before they were even developed. It was described as wearing a hide of shields for battle and could only be dwarfed by the tallest of mountains. It was known to lair on the Three Sisters, and its wings created a sound that resonated through the sky.”
