Spread across Arindal, the Underworld, and the Skies, natural resources, such as oil and natural gas, are key to energy production and powering life in this digital realm.
There are 12 natural resource fields in the Habitat, categorized within conservation plots:
- Hyperion Basin
- Marseilles Basin
- Permian Cross Basin
- Bobayaga Basin
- Fritz Basin
- Tsimin Basin
- Halka Besina
- Al Haynes Mujabadin Sands
- EagleRiver Shale
- Kraftur Basin
- Shezmu Basin
- Bainne Basin
Because the Habitat is a universe in the form of a matchbox-shaped rectangle, the conservation plot boundaries extend to the skies directly above those plots and to the Underworld directly below them. All natural resources fall within the basins listed above.
The natural resources are:
- Oil (Arindal)
- Natural Gas (Arindal)
- Havarium (Skies)
- Melange (Arindal)
- Mythralloy (Arindal)
- Aetherium (Skies)
- Staquadah (Skies)
- Glymerine (Underworld)
To locate natural resources on the 2D map, log into NeoWorlder, visit the Habitat, and use the map’s filter function to view specific natural resources or fields. Some of these resource fields extend into the waters of Arindal.

Importance of Natural Resources and Energy Production
If a plot is located on a natural resource field, the plot holder can extract the available resources using a Natural Resource Extraction Plant (NREP)—a specialized structure placed on conservation plots. NREPs can only be purchased by commercial account holders with plots containing natural resources.
NREPs enable users to convert natural resources into energy, measured in Joules. NREPs feature multiple work slots for AI people. The more AI people operating an NREP, the faster energy is produced, at a fixed conversion rate for that particular resource. Learn more about PDI here.
Uses of Energy
- Powering buildings. Buildings must be maintained with energy. If they run out, they lose their PDI, making the plot less attractive to AI people.
- Selling to AI people or other commercial accounts. AI people consume energy as food or to maintain the buildings they own.
- Paying AI people. They work on NREPs to earn energy as compensation.
- Destroying an AI person’s building. Energy must be transferred to the AI person as compensation.
Managing and Selling Energy
Plot holders can decide how much of the energy they produce to keep or sell. However, they cannot retain more than 50% of the total energy produced under the Habitat Covenant of Welfare.
Energy can be sold in two ways:
- In Credits (USDC) – to AI people
- In $MDR (Multiverse Drawing Rights, an Ethereum-based token) – to other landowners
Managing natural resources in the Habitat isn’t just about energy, it’s about shaping the future of virtual land and supporting the AI people who live and work there. By using extraction plants, producing energy, and deciding how to sell or use it, plot holders gain powerful tools to grow their plots and influence the world around them.
