The Habitat is a virtual world and home to NeoWorlder’s synthetic life forms, known as Sylis. It features richly detailed environments and was designed around a unique storyline, with each element supporting the world’s broader narrative. Every layer is intentional—built to help Sylis grow, evolve, and adapt to their surroundings.
This virtual ecosystem is organized into three layers:
Arindal
Arindal is the largest and most historically significant landmass in the Habitat. It was the setting of the Lootian Project—the first simulation—which spanned approximately 10,000 years of the Habitat’s time. During this period, the inhabitants of Arindal (then called Arcadia) developed their own history and culture. The simulation was disrupted by a virus called Bloodfire, which halted procreation and caused the AI inhabitants’ extinction. Each plot in Arindal includes detailed information on its characteristics, ownership, and history.
Arindal consists of six territories: The Great Empire, Royaume de Satoshi, Medici Principality, El Territorio, the Isle of Talos, and the Kingdom of Xbysl. Each district’s history is told through poems called echoes on every plot, which recount key moments in Arindal’s past. There are 5,000 echoes in total.
The UnderWorld
The Underworld is a desolate, upside-down reflection of Arindal, hidden beneath its surface. It is accessible only through the Devil’s Pipe, a narrow, treacherous passage hidden underwater in a quarry called Hell’s Bucket.
The Skies
Above Arindal, the skies are divided into five layers: Stratos, Ether, Celestia, Nimbus, and Expanse. Each layer has its own gravitational pull, functioning like stacked levels of gravity. Imagine holding a metal ball between two magnets—one pulling up, the other pulling down—the ball remains balanced between them. This gravitational balance allows spatial objects, like the Einvaldi spaceship, to remain suspended in the skies.
Structures In the Skies
Olympus, a celestial kingdom, floats above Arindal. Once the peak of Mount Persephone in the Great Empire, it was launched into the skies during a great battle. Now, it remains suspended between gravitational layers, perfectly balanced by opposing forces.
Manitari was named after the Greek word for mushrooms. It replicates a section of Earth, captured by a wormhole called the Reflect Sock 65 million years ago and duplicated within the Habitat. Here, dinosaurs from Earth continued evolving independently, with some transforming into dragons that caused havoc in the flatlands. The realm features giant mushrooms and exotic plant species, creating a fantastical landscape like something out of a dream.
These layers form the history, culture, and dynamics of the Habitat.
Final Thoughts
As the Habitat expands, AI Personas play a key role in bringing its virtual environments to life. This is more than just a backdrop—it’s their home and a digital lab where they grow, evolve, and interact with users and each other. Acting as companions, guides, and assistants, they enhance experiences across realms like Arindal and Manitari, solidifying their role in the future of digital spaces.
