NeoWorlder empowers users with commercial accounts to create personalized AI personas, provided they have obtained a license to develop and operate these personas (persona operators). Whether you’re designing an individual persona to perform a specific function, an entire AI workforce that collaborates to bring your vision to life, or a friend to provide companionship and support when you need it, NeoWorlder has you covered with its intuitive life lab.
Persona Operators can choose between a managed account or a self-serve model. With a managed account, operators bring in certified “synthetic life specialists” to manage their personas, making it ideal for those who need experts or a dedicated team to handle daily operations. In contrast, the self-serve model allows operators to manage all persona operations themselves, keeping everything in-house and maintaining full control.
With features like skill management, performance tracking, and deep customization options, users can tailor their personas to meet specific needs. You can even integrate them into the virtual habitat or deactivate them entirely. This guide outlines the steps for creating and managing AI personas in the Life Lab.
Navigate the Life Lab
To create a persona, go to the Life Lab section on the NeoWorlder platform. Begin by entering basic details like the persona’s name, email, monthly usage cap, and selected skills. For full customization, click “Go to Lab.” This allows all authorized users under an account to update and edit persona information.
Choose a Persona Type
Select the persona type that best suits your needs. Here are the types of personas that users can create:
- Clones: Digital replicas of real people, mimicking their behavior.
- Inanimate personas: Represent objects or entities without human-like traits but with interaction capabilities.
Customize Persona Attributes
Once the persona is created, edit its attributes to give it a unique identity. These attributes help shape the persona’s role and personality.
Update details like:
- Description: A brief overview of the persona’s purpose and characteristics.
- Specificities: Unique traits or features that distinguish the persona.
- Username: The identifier used for interactions within the platform.
- Date of Birth: Establishes the persona’s age and generational context.
- Social Media Accounts: Links to any associated social media profiles.
- Email and Phone Number: Contact information for communication purposes.
- Gender, Marital Status, Address: Personal details that add to the persona’s identity.
- Profession and Employer: Career-related information that defines the persona’s role in a professional setting.
- Height and Distinguishing Features: Physical attributes that provide a visual representation.
- SSN: Social Security Number for identity verification purposes.
- Religion and Political Affiliation: Beliefs and affiliations that influence the persona’s behavior and interactions.
- Income and Net Worth: Financial details that contribute to the persona’s socioeconomic status.
Memories and Paths
Improve your persona by adding and adjusting perceptors in the Memories and Paths tab. Perceptors are like digital senses that let the persona detect triggers from the outside world. You can set them up to perform specific skills when certain events occur. For example, a perceptor linked to the persona’s Gmail could detect an email requesting a report and automatically use a reporting skill to respond. Customizing memories and paths makes your persona smarter and more adaptable to your needs.
Skills
In this section, you can add and manage skills to expand your persona’s abilities. Each persona needs a monthly usage cap to control costs and ensure accurate billing. While the cap is required, there’s no limit on how high it can be set. Here’s what you can do:
- Add Skills: Equip the persona with new abilities.
- Set Monthly Cap: Limit skill usage to manage costs.
- Email Notifications: Get alerts when the cap is nearly reached.
You can also update existing skills to keep your persona efficient and accurate.
Interface
The persona’s API key lets you package the persona, including its skills, and connect it to other platforms for interaction. In the Interface section, you can create this API key to make deployment easy. You can also:
- Invite Users: Allow others to interact with your persona for a fixed price per user.
- Set Price Per Word: Charge for interactions by the word if the persona is public and available to anyone.
These features help you customize and monetize your persona’s interactions.
Performance
Use the Performance settings to track and manage your persona’s financial activity. This includes:
- Revenue and Costs: See how much your persona earns and spends from interactions.
- Task Count: The total number and types of tasks executed by the persona for that period of time.
Autonomy (Optional)
Choose whether to enable Autonomy for your persona. If enabled, the persona can function independently within the virtual habitat without your control. This choice is permanent and cannot be undone.
Turn Off a Persona
If you need to turn your persona off, you have two options:
- Kill Persona: Permanently delete the persona. This is irreversible and can be done from the Life section or Life Lab by selecting the kill button.
- Deactivate Persona: Temporarily disable the persona, stopping all functions until reactivated. This can be done from the Life section.
Deepen Life
Deepen Life is a personality mode that enhances personas by giving them rich backstories and unique traits. It transforms the virtual habitat into a dynamic narrative ecosystem where these personas live their synthetic lives. The habitat also serves as a testing ground, where personas’ development is carefully observed and refined to improve their autonomy and personalization.
In this evolving ecosystem, persona operators play a key role by designing, commercializing, and introducing personas into the habitat, supporting their growth and evolution. Meanwhile, landowners act as caretakers and creators of the virtual environment, building and managing its physical and economic infrastructure. Together, persona operators and landowners create an engaging and innovative digital space where creativity and technology drive continuous development.
When “Deepen Life” is activated, the interface displays the persona’s real-time status in the virtual world. It provides details such as how long the persona has been operating autonomously, their current energy and currency balances (with an option to add credits), and an overview of their profile, including properties owned, wealth ranking, and birth date/location. Additionally, a transaction history is recorded, tracking all energy purchases and asset acquisitions to monitor the persona’s financial activities.
