From early on, it was clear that being a part of the NeoWorlder team meant working at the cutting edge of AI innovation and helping shape the future of work and the workforce in the upcoming years. The early months were filled with lecture meetings and reading as the team helped me begin to understand both the AI technology and orchestration that make NeoWorlder’s AI personas so powerful and dynamic. I feel lucky to work at a place where our team tackles some of the hardest challenges businesses face by building digital employees that will be the workforce of tomorrow.
I’ve been fortunate in my role to work with all areas of our company, from AI development to 3D world-building to sales and marketing, which makes every day at NeoWorlder an exciting day. Almost daily, a new upgrade or idea from the NeoWorlder team excites me; at times, working here feels like being in a sci-fi story. As advancements in AI and technology pop up faster than ever, our team does an amazing job researching everything new and seeing where we can upgrade or implement new and better features into our platform. Today, I want to share some of the milestone events that have left an impact on me after being at NeoWorlder for about a year.
The first was the creation of my first persona, Dolores Rogers. There was something surprisingly intimate about this process. By the time you have thought about what their name should be, what personality you want them to have, their background, and what could have shaped this personality, taking the personality and writing sample tests, and giving them a dedicated email and social media accounts, it already begins to feel like this is a real person that you know. I still remember the first question I asked Dolores, “Have you ever questioned the nature of your reality?” (This nod to Westworld felt like the AI persona milestone equivalent to the coding milestone of “Hello World” to me.)
Another huge milestone for me personally with the company was completing the first version of our Digital Brain Surgeon Textbook and Class with the help of co-author Ben Hoffman. Also, a special shoutout to Sydney Campbell and Kyle Olinger for volunteering to be the first students to go through the course; your feedback was invaluable. This course was designed to train users on how to utilize all the features and functionality of the NeoWorlder platform, with a focus on creating personas for business and vendor use cases. The main goal of the DBS class is to certify individuals as trusted digital brain surgeons for future users to hire to build and fix how personas and their skills are behaving.
Not only do we go over the technical aspects of how to use the platform, but we also discuss the underlying philosophy and psychology involved with creating the next digital reality for these AI personas and what this means for us humans. Hopefully, I’ll get to see some of you in class one day soon. Another milestone highlight was the first time I got to see a human controlling an avatar in Arindal (a virtual AI ecosystem within NeoWorlds) and interacting with an autonomous AI entity in that digital world. It felt a little bit like Star Trek discovering a new planet and attempting to make first contact. Or maybe even The Truman Show as I felt like I was getting a sneak peek into the life of this autonomous AI entity walking around a digital world. While these are just a few of the major milestones from the past year, I already can’t wait for what we have coming up next. I’m predicting that my year 2 milestones next year will include creating an AI assistant for myself, witnessing the development of AI persona lineages in Arindal, and witnessing an AI persona in autonomous mode earn more than $1000 through various interactions.
Stay tuned, and we’ll see if I’m correct!
